Will badges in Curatr be updated to reflect that Mozilla Badges has been superseded by Badgr?

    Hi Cathy,

We don't currently have any planned changes to badges but we do have a new process where I can directly create a ticket that goes directly to the product team.

From my testing I haven't been able to get the new sync to work, although it is not clear why. When signed into Badgr it still presents me the create account/sign in option. I have noted this on the ticket.

    Best,

    David

Hi David - I have a last minute meeting with my client tomorrow who would like assurance that the Badges functionality in Curatr works. Has there been any progress on this one?

Apologies for the delay in response, badges functionality is unchanged. Completed badges can be added to external services using the badge image or the URLs provided in the user's profile badge area. Our badges use the Open Badges format and so should be compatible with many services.

What has stopped functioning correctly is a widget for the third party Mozilla Backpack service which allowed users to easily transfer their badges. The badges could be added via URL or the badge image but this widget made it much more convenient.

Mozilla Backpack been replaced by a different system called Badgr which appears to have changed the widget. It looks like we would need to do work to support the new widget which would be a decision for the product management team. I have created a ticket about this for their consideration.

    Best,

    David
