While importing a CSV is the best way to add attributes to lots of your personas, sometimes you need to adjust a few people without remaking an entire CSV.
Using the People > Manage tab you can amend or merge existing persona names, attributes and identifiers, or add entirely new ones.
Learning Locker splits the persona management into three tabs: Identifiers, Attributes and Merge.
People > Manage > Expand a Persona > Identifiers Tab
When adding a new email address identifier, all that is required is the email address of the person you are adding, the prefix mailto: will be appended onto the field automatically.
When adding a new account using a website and user id, be sure to add the full website address (including http[s]://). Furthermore you will not be able to submit the identifier if either of the fields are empty.
Below is an example of what both types of Unique Identifier should look like.
People > Manage > Expand a Persona > Attributes Tab
To add an attribute to a new or existing persona click the + Add Attribute button, which will then bring up a new row with blank name and value fields.
Note: The attribute name cannot be changed once the attribute has been added, to change this field you will need to delete the attribute and make it again.
To edit an attribute's value, click the square pencil icon in the Actions column. This will allow you to edit the Value field. Then, click the save icon to save any changes you have made or click the cross icon to cancel those changes.
To delete an attribute simply click the delete icon in the Actions column and accept the alert that is shown.
People > Manage > Expand a Persona > Merge Tab
If you have two personas that you know pertain to the same person, you can use the merge tab to combine these personas to make querying easier in the future.
This is because merging brings together all of the statements from the two personas into the final merged persona. For example, after merging Persona B into Persona A, querying for Persona A will also return Persona B's statements.
Note: After one persona is merged into another, the original persona is deleted and the target persona inherits all identifiers and attributes that belonged to the (now deleted) original persona.
Note: Learning Locker will never overwrite attributes. Any attributes from another persona will be added on in addition to the existing ones.
